This is a favorite of mine because it actually takes the time to interject some personality into the characters. I love how smarmy and douchey Lance is and how fake Houston is. It was refreshing from the usual crop of found footage bland teenagers

I think you got it backwards in your analysis of whats important in this movie. To quote the Angry Video Game nerd: "What the hell is this shit I don't care what these people are talking about. Oh look back there what game is this. Who the hell are you? Go back to the freakin Wonder Years you piece of shit."

Also the stock sound effects that they used for the dragons in Warcraft 2 was really distracting

Put me squarely in the seasoned horror balking category. I just couldn't vibe with the cheap effects and un-subtlety of the narrative

Just the idea of the cataclysmic debris field which pretty much destroys the most important structures we have in space suggests a much better movie where the people on earth are watching helplessly as all their achievements are destroyed in one fell swoop. Honestly was kind of shocked by how much I liked this movie, I hope to see this on one of your guys end of the year lists perhaps for underrated or performance from Edison

Normally I can suspend my disbelief but its just so egregious when a movie is clearly going for realism and authenticity to get such glaringly basic things wrong. And for major plot points to dependent on these things just makes it even worse
