In no way am I defending the shows post Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Rubicon but lets not kill the mother for the last few eggs. 
Part of AMC success with MM, BB & R was that they were hands off with the show runners… it's too bad that this was misplaced with the last few offerings.

I agree that a lot of the heavy lifting on Lost's poignant moments was Michael Giacchino's score.  However, I'd stop short of saying he "ripped off" anyone.  His library of stuff from Star Trek, to the Incredibles, to Ratatouille show he's incredibly competent in any genre so I see bending to influences rather than…
