Over on Knots Landing, Alec Baldwin joined the cast as Joshua, Val's long lost half-brother, Greg (William Devane) saved Abby from her kidnapper by shooting him and Karen has to decide if she's going to have that bullet removed from her spine (her late husband ended up dying after spinal surgery).

D'oh! I misunderstood the question. In which case — Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?

Ditto Dolly.

Of the stuff that's open so far, I'm thinking Dear Evan Hansen, but it's not star-dependent, like Natasha/Pierre or Dolly or any of the play revivals.

I keep expecting they'll end up giving an old school special Tony "for star power" or some such nonsense, to Jake Gyllenhaal.

I demand a chorus boy from every nominated musical!

I loved it when it was in those Smart Ones meals commercials. Also, I think it was my aunt and uncle's wedding song.

"I knew there was a reason why she didn't like me!"

Tell me … Irma … can you speak with a nasal voice?

Eh, it's a living.

They leaned a little too far into conventional romantic comedy land. Which sounds weird for a film built around "Gwyneth Paltrow's fat!"

Now I want to greenlight Betsy Wetsy The Movie.

Who can that attractive girl be?

You'll have much better luck with "And I'm Telling You (I'm Not Going)". Or doing an impression of James Brown on the toilet.

Cocoon

Marc had a great body. I'm looking forward to The Beastmaster.

Sorry, we did that last month.

My go-to for Roache is as Jessica's attorney, E. Ronald Mallu, on Soap. Naturally, he falls for her, and when Chester walks in, she pretends they're learning how to dance the Hustle.

Oddly enough, I don't think they did a college graduation episode for Alex.

Now I'm racking my brain to think if they ever did an episode where Alex had to really live with defeat and "getting by."
