It wasn't originally on my list, but I could either fit it in or watch it during "Ones That Got Away" week.

It reached a nice groove around 1990.

I felt like the new ending to "Gaston," with the illiteracy gag, would have fit right at home on Galavant.

I wish that would have survived. The scene that exists is just "Gaston is horny."

Yeah, we're not entirely like Cicely. I just feel that perhaps I'm not enough of a townie, still just a resident.

It was certainly less clunky than the attempts at fitting in historical context. Gaston seemed to have wandered in from A Tale of Two Cities.

I wonder if reading What We Talk About would add anything to watching Birdman.

Without a doubt. And he had chemistry with everybody in this film.

If only it was a carbon copy. To me, it wasn't Beauty and the Beast. There were things to admire. Hell, I would have applauded most of the new gimmicks if they were in support of a brand new story. I dunno, some things should just be left alone.

I know we're only in March, but it's going to be hard to find a more satisfying film this year than Logan.

Well, yes.

The damn best Columbo villain around, thank you.

“A thriller in two acts. One set, five characters. A juicy murder in act one, terror in act two. An ironic and astonishing resolution, Good dialogue, laughs in all the right places, Very, very commercial, and easy to cast!”

The Week in Journalism/My Personal Life
I’m celebrating 18 months on the job and — as usual — wrestling with whether or not this is the end of the line for me. Things reached a critical point Thursday, when I found out our JCPenney was one of the nearly 140 set to close this June. It’s such a sad thing, not so much

So, I had a profound moment of catharsis this week on why it was taking me so long to get through Northern Exposure. I am planning to finish it, I just realized I’ve been dragging my feet because I am Joel. Even after 18 months, I still feel a little like an outsider, but it’s a self-imposed sentence. Seeing Rob
