His French accent was pretty bad. I couldn't believe that Sam wouldn't immediately see through that.

Hey-yo!
It's a house that's only haunted by the woman herself and her stifled desires to escape. You could do some research into the anti-feminist "rest cures" for hysteria and then compare that to her reaction in the story. That would prove a better topic than feminism in general, since you only have a few pages.
And hey! we know for once that the meat is actually coming from a non-human animal.
I thought that it was really good — despite the plotting issues with Georgia. The reveal of Will's illness, as well as the ending, pretty much left me on the floor, they were so awesome.
They are _the best_. Now, if only he wrote exclusively with fountain pens, we would be totally simpatico (with our fondness of superior writing implements, that is).
Thanks for the knowledge, @avclub-ba543c98ebb0f0e5cbc7f9eb475349bc:disqus. I really hated the "I dunno.. Leprosy maybe?" plot, but that at least makes sense.
Am I the only one who misses the little vignettes about the late 1980s adventures of little Shawn and Gus?
When he reached out to Georgia, my only thought was, "Please don't have her stab his hand."
I was just thinking the same thing!
I totally agree with the clock scene. I had to rewatch it because it was so good. Plus, I wanted to see if Dancy's movements mirrored what he saw or what Hannibal saw. Cleverly, the camera cut away so as not to give it away before the reveal.
I just looked up Douglas online, and it appears that Harris based Jack Crawford, not Will Graham, on Douglas.
As an adult
who still gets sympathy pains when I see someone stub his toe, I would
have to say that Hannibal's statement about those mirror neurons going
away as you age is a bunch of hooey.
I am both bothered and amazed at this episode. I was bothered by the lack of a good explanation for what was physically going on with Georgia. That wasn't leprosy; leprosy is all about sores, nerve damage, weakness, and losing feeling in your fingers and toes, not about skin coming off like a glove, reduced blood…
Yes! I was just going to say the same thing. It really was a great ending to the franchise.
I really liked the ending of the totem pole murderer plot. The killer was so smug, so sure, and then BAM! - enjoy your "retirement" bitch!
I would immediately brand the person calling JWG "John" as creepy.
Yes! I'm glad that someone else saw it. I wonder if that was what made her admit to her sins — now that he _really_ reminds her of her father. O.o
I felt the same way. The easiest thing would be for him to kill Will. The reason that he didn't is because he doesn't want to give up on the relationship —- not while there is still hope anyway. (I expect that hope to come crashing sometime around the second to last episode of the show.)
I agree. I should have specified that I was talking about stand-up comedians. It's not that Affleck's not a funny guy, it's just that someone has to write something for him — that's the challenging part.
