I doubt that it was even his idea to bring it up. I think that writing good openings for non-comedians is always challenging.

Yeah, that was the biggest shock of the night, I think. Much more so than Michael being the best man. (oops — sorry —- bestich Mensch)
It would make more sense from a corporate point of view, but David Wallace really likes Toby. Remember — Wallace brought Toby back after he left (much to Michael's chagrin). I think that the firing was all Dwight.
@avclub-22cfdce02d35728058686d49fc89a63b:disqus I applaud your bravery for using the LOL among us AV Clubbers.
Spaceballs Memory! When I was a kid, I watched Spaceballs all the time with my brothers. It was almost a daily thing for awhile. Well, one day my older brother and I were both sick with the stomach flu and home from school. We had, of course, the not-surprising idea of watching Spaceballs. Things were going pretty…
Ah, Near Beer. A pointless beverage.
I met Joel, and I thanked him for my sense of humor.
You're ruining it for me!
Nope, you are not. Talking MST3k clearly warms our cold, hardened hearts here at AV Club.
My mom saw the Final Sacrifice, and she absolutely lost it at that line. I think that she cried she laughed so hard.
The utter fiascoes (like Pod People) were the best movies to riff. No matter how much we rag on movies like "Twilight," those big budget, slick movies clearly fail to reach the storied heights of utter failure that you would see in a classic MST3K episode.
It feels that they are more on autopilot over there more — much more so than with good old MST3K (or Cinematic Titanic).
I've been to a couple of their live shows; they were absolutely fantastic.
I would watch that. He's already got that creepy thing going for him.
If these guys get any more soul, we're going to have to order out for greens.
That's one of the best. :)
"Pod People" was the episode that I used to hook my best friend on MST3K. Every 15 minutes or so, she would stop the DVD to ask me what was happening. Silly lady, thinking that a MST3K movie would makes sense.
*shot* Ow!
I actually liked Monster-A-Go-Go. Yes it's slow, but there are some really solid laughs…. particularly at that ending. That's the worst movie ending I have ever seen (and I have seen AI).
Plus, Joel's voice is so nice and smoothing,… zzzzzzzzzz
