I strongly feel "mild as baby soap" could have been the whole review. It says everything so strongly.

Yeah, fuck artists who value their work and kids who don't want to die in poverty I guess. At least he had positive things to say about Chinese people in the most racist way he could muster.

I liked it a lot. Cool sounds, catchy writing

"Still, even mega-fans wouldn’t have expected the group to start using Latin horns like on its new single"
Seriously? because their last album straight-up had a song sung in Catalan

The problem is that people think of rape as something a madman does in a dark alley or something. Most of the time it's someone the victim knows. Now, this source says it's 1 in 6 women (which is still a lot) but other sources float around 20%.

There is a problem with this sentiment that I think a lot of people don't understand, and it goes hand in hand with "well everything is offensive to SOMEONE." One in five women have been raped, so when you're a comedian with an audience, and you tell a rape joke, you are telling it to a woman who has been raped.

Probably gonna be my favorite Aesop Rock album. Very, very good. That's entirely self-produced gives it a whole lot of consistency, and Aes has turned out to be a stellar producer.

I asked Todd about it on twitter, he said he was referring to "Just how the show uses her dream self as an archetype. Not the character herself."

I do understand and I see your point a lot better now. I'm still hesitant to attack Todd for this, but I won't pretend that he isn't in very problematic territory.

I won't deny that this is problematic. Lemme just dump my thoughts on the matter then:

Shit man, I don't know. I know nothing about these characters. All I do know is that he had two characters that fit into an analogy and was trying to find a third. Someone suggested a character, and for whatever reason, she fit. I don't think he was out to slut-shame, but the lack of context here makes this really
