John Stewart Diggle. Watch him find a green ring…
If you're an Ellroy fan, it's awesome. It's set in December 1941, with racial tensions and the Pearl Harbor aftermath inflaming L.A., and it features tons of major characters from his entire L.A. Quartet and Underworld USA Trilogy: all three Black Dahlia leads, Dudley Smith, Ward Littell, Scotty Bennett, and more.
People who have already seen this, please tell me one thing: does he turn into a horror movie villain and start tormenting the family, or is he at least a "decent" guy to them, in his own twisted way?
I got my copy of Copra: Round One in the mail yesterday, but I have to finish my library copy of James Ellroy's Perfidia first. I've been psyched to read Copra for over a year, since all the reviews have gushed with praise, and because I'm a huge fan of Ostrander's Suicide Squad. I'm currently trying to collect a…
I'll add it to the list with David Lynch's Return of the Jedi.
I got to visit Jeni's Ice Cream on a trip to Columbus, Ohio earlier this year, and it was easily the best selection of ice creams ever, with the Biscuits and Peach Jam flavor becoming my favorite. For those of you who are like me, unlucky enough to live somewhere other than Columbus, Chicago, NYC, Cleveland,…
Martian Manhunter: Harry Lennix (perhaps just his voice + motion-capture CGI)
Now they just need to cast Rob Riggle as Captain Marv… uh… Shazam, since he's funny with a manic energy, he's a Marine and can surely get jacked, and he looks like a C.C. Beck drawing come to life.
Still hoping for Anna Torv as Carol, to go along with Emily Blunt as either Jessica Jones or Drew.
Flood is the best entry-level TMBG album. It's the one that made me into an instant fan half my life ago. Follow that with Apollo 18. I've never liked any of their other albums nearly that much, but I'll always love those two.
Anna Torv for Carol. To be fair, I've never seen Sackhoff in anything, but Torv showed serious acting chops on Fringe, looks the part, and could use the gig.
Man, I got to visit the original Jeni's Ice Cream Parlor on a recent trip to Columbus, Ohio, and everything I sampled blew my mind. Easily some of the best ice creams ever. The Birch and Marshmallow flavor they sampled in the video was my favorite, as a root beer aficionado, and the Oregon Fir was surprisingly good…
Adam Scott would be a better Blue Beetle (uptight, self-deprecating nerd) while Joel McHale would be the perfect Booster Gold (self-aggrandizing former jock/aging pretty-boy discovering his heart of gold). Jeff Winger isn't that far off from Booster Gold.
No, Cooke wrote and drew Selina's Big Score, but I believe it came out after Brubaker's first arc of the ongoing Catwoman series (which Cooke penciled and Mike Allred inked).
Hudsucker Proxy is my favorite Coen Brothers movie, but I know that's an unpopular opinion. I've seen them all except Intolerable Cruelty and A Serious Man.
What about the "Star Wars Cantina," which was to the tune of "Lola"?
That Adam guy from Workaholics has him beat.
I enjoyed Shoot 'Em Up as a better Punisher movie than any of the actual Punisher movies, capturing the manic, madcap energy and dark humor of Garth Ennis' comics. Man on Fire was also a better Punisher movie than the three real ones, but as a much more serious portrayal.
The best root beer ever is Big Shot, but it's ONLY available in New Orleans. I've tried for years to get an online source or have people mail it to me, to no avail. It really is that good, though.
No Internet points for me? I was first with the answer!
