Yeah, that's the first role where I really noticed him, and made sure to catch the credits to see who he was. Then, of course, I realized that I'd enjoyed his performances in half a dozen other things. But John Dickinson is still probably my favorite thing I've seen him do. He's the primary antagonist of that episode,

I know he has like a million things worth asking about, but I'm a little disappointed that Mass Appeal didn't make the cut. I'm pretty sure it was the only time he actually starred in a movie and a real break from the type of roles he took later in his career.
Also, it's impressive that you could probably have spent

Yeah, that was the first episode of 30 Rock that I watched and I immediately fell in love with the show. Between MILF Island and Jack's fake tragic childhood that episode's pretty hilarious.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the suspect claimed to be filing her nails. Granted, I have no idea whether this makes any more sense, but I'll trust Sally's logic.

By total coincidence I had just finished watching it when I saw this Newswire piece. It's an odd movie, darting between pretty great scenes and absolutely terrible ones (especially the chase and Jolene's monologue). On balance, though, I'd say the first half holds up quite well.

It's really kind of mystifying, Sam Worthington looks absolutely nothing like Ciaran Hinds (but could possibly grow into Tom Wilkinson) and the confusion is made much worse by the fact that they cast a guy who does look quite a lot like a young Ciaran Hinds in the other role. I'm genuinely bewildered, was this

Yeah, while this Newsroom shares Network's speeches, the Canadian one shares its cynicism, and is hilarious as a result.

Even if this show sucks, it will be worth it if even it leads even one person to accidentally discover the Canadian Newsroom (now would be a good time to rerelease the DVDs with vaguer packaging).

This is my favorite new show of the season (though I haven't seen Girls or Veep yet) and it's somewhat hard to put my finger on why. It's rarely, if ever, laugh-out-loud funny, in fact I'd say it's more effective as a drama than a comedy, but even when it focuses on dramatic plotlines it's still fairly low-key. What I

Now it'll be even harder to recommend that show to people.

Well, I think Gutfeld and Levy are both libertarians, so they don't
really care for either liberals or conservatives, which helps make the
show work. It's at its worst when a guest thinks they're there to simply
throw out really standard Republican talking points, because they tend
not to be called out on that, it's

I actually preferred Janeane Garofalo to Mary Lynn Rajskub and I kind of preferred Darlene's naivete as a foil for Hank. But I don't have a problem with Jeremy Piven leaving, and my preference for the older cast members isn't really strong.

I like the fact that the mayor joins in on the lie rather than look like he's not solving the problem. Who said that season 5 of The Wire is unrealistic?
