The Bane thing was so ridiculous - and so pitch perfect. I think Sam is really hitting his stride as a character this season. Thank god for the return of CHORD OVERSTREET!!!!

Brilliant assessment. Superbly articulated. I have even more appreciation for how wonderfully crafted that scene between Stefan and Elena was thanks to this. Kudos.

I concur with Terinitup. Sheriff Matt FTW!

Absolutely. I thought precisely the same thing. That being said, I also thought that having Shane be Silas might be too obvious for this show so really, it could go either way right now.

Nick was KILLING it tonight. I think my favorite moment among Nick's montage with his silent Asian BFF was when he was trying to guess his name. Nick's joyfully startled facial expression when he decided his guess of "Tran" was right? Priceless. So brilliant.

While I thought the scene and moment were TOTALLY bad ass and brilliant, I completely get why this death affects Elena. In her mind, when she was human defending herself and/or her loved ones from supernatural forces, she was "good" and they were "bad." It made it easier for her to cope with any harm she may have…

CHORD OVERSTREET!!! has become one of the few reasons to continue watching this show. He's so genuine and funny - and hey, he's not hard on the eyes either. :-)

While in the real world I would agree that Finn's use of the word "retarded" to Sue about her baby is awful and reprehensible, given the things Sue calls these kids day in and day out (and even like two seconds before Finn's comment) I couldn't help but think:
