While in the real world I would agree that Finn's use of the word "retarded" to Sue about her baby is awful and reprehensible, given the things Sue calls these kids day in and day out (and even like two seconds before Finn's comment) I couldn't help but think:

Actually, I think that was a bit of misdirection on Connor's part. I got the impression in that last scene that it was perhaps the witchy professor that brought him into the vampire-hunting fold rather than some nameless guy he served with that is now conveniently deceased and can provide no further intel.

You know, I felt exactly the same in that moment - in terms of rolling my eyes at Bonnie's returning "holier than thou" judgmental attitude - but I'm beginning to think the show just doesn't know how to show Bonnie having a good moral compass without her coming across as sanctimonious.

Having their be a "twist" to what it means to be "cured" doesn't necessarily make it a recycled plot. In my mind, it just shows that TVD is smart about their plotting choices and will continue the theme of "things are rarely what they seem to be."

I was so struck by the still that accompanies this recap - JJ looks so young there!! Oftentimes, in my head, seems/feels like he isn't too far removed from his days as Pacey Witter. But comparing this photo to our current day Peter Bishop just drives home how much he's really changed (i.e. gotten hotter) over the

It kills me how unfortunate some of these changes are. I agree that "Paper Cup" is a painfully terrible loss to the viewing of the show as it was originally intended; "Settling" is a close second. And I swear, when we get to "Cinderella Story", I'm shutting off my DVD in favor of watching that scene on YouTube with

Word! Season 3 is where is starts to get really, REALLY good. Particularly for fans of Mr. Witter.

Not possible. I've been in love with Pacey Witter for well over a decade with no plans to stop.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I saw a little of that on Elena's face last night, but not enough. Balance requires that the SHOW (not just the audience) acknowledges that both brothers were right and wrong in what they wanted for Elena - and yet it still insists on making Stefan be more good than Damon. I posed this question in an earlier thread but I think it begs to be asked again: how in gods name did TPTB for DC manage to create both a character as wonderful and nuanced and layered and freaking lovable as Pacey Whitter while simultaneously creating perhaps the least likeable, least sympathetic protagonist ever on
