Yeah, I mean obviously there was a bit of an exploitative aspect to that doc, but it least it tried to provide a little context for the family and their way of life, and gave some time to locals who reasonably explained the problems that the Whites caused for the community and its image.

Not even necessarily a defense of these tracks, I just think that popular=bland is a pretty lazy observation for an entertainment writer, and it's particularly perplexing given the reaction to some of these tracks on this site, as well as the prevailing sentiment by many others that the fun and gotye tracks are
