I am torn between my hatred of Robert Beltran and my love for gimmick commenters.  How do I reconcile my head and my heart?

I am… in awe.  Bravo, madam, bravo!

I concur.

Well, they did start the show with the whole 'Imzadi' thing.

Wow.  Interview with Rick Berman is getting a serious case of Cerebus Syndrome.

I'm with you, Richelieu.  I think Enterprise gets a bad rap from folks who were suffering from (an understandable) Trek fatigue.  It ain't no DS9, but I think it's solid sci-fi.

Yeah, but that is relative.  The first two seasons of DS9 comprise a show that's good, but not great.  DS9 moves from good to excellent to good.  TNG went from bad to excellent to mediocre.  Voyager went from bland to bland to 'bland but somewhat entertaining as a result of the hologram and Borg lady'.

Batman's a scientist!

There was a prior commenter (whose name, I regret to say, I can't recall) who noted that 'DS9 hit the ground running.'  I couldn't agree more.  That show went from consistently good to consistently excellent to back to good.

In fact, DS9 ignored it altogether.  Voyager mentioned it once or twice, but I think it was just to the effect of 'oh, that.  We fixed that.'

I understand and sympathize with your analysis, Prole Hole, but I can't agree.  I would argue that the single greatest problem with the Chipotle-Seven relationship is that Robert Beltran can't act.  Despite multiple attempts over the course of the series, he never comes off as convincingly spiritual or mystical, just

That moment when Sisko says 'Hello, Jadzia', may very well be my single favorite moment from DS9.  Possibly the entire f'in franchise.

You're thinking of 'Half a Life'.  I agree; that was a very well done episode.  I guess 'Half a Life' is to Lwaxana Troi what 'Face of the Enemy' is to Deanna Troi?

The problem with the Voyager episode with Janeway and Chipotle is that I don't like those characters, and don't care about their love lives.  I'll grant that Kate Mulgrew is a good actress, but Janeway was just so poorly developed as a character that it would be difficult for Judi Dench to do anything with her.  And

Once as a kid I swum out too far in the ocean.  My arms almost gave out, but I made it back to shore.  I tell you - those near death experiences may season you, but they sure ain't fun to live through.

The only Fleming-penned Bond short stories that haven't yet been used as movie titles are 'Risico', 'The Property of a Lady', 'The Hildebrand Rarity', and '007 in New York'.  I was sure that the next film was going to be 'The Property of a Lady', but no dice.  Oh, well.  Anyway, the events of that short story were

Awesome.

Ooooh; I hope Chao mentions that incident at some point.

My gosh, Frakes.  I particularly appreciated the continuity with Sirtis' commentary on 'Face of the Enemy'.  I am in awe at the top-notch insight/laffs that y'all provide every week.  This time, the drinks are on me.
