Everything RZ is trying to do with the 1970's grindhouse aesthetic is done so much better by a band like Uncle Acid instead of his early 2000's brand of butt metal.

Maybe my listen was colored by his recent interview with Slug on Secret Skin, but a lot of Mike's verses on this album have a very Atmosphere cadence to them. Add in a verse by Aesop and this album feels like something straight out of 2004. I think I preferred Dark Comedy for sounding new and unique, but I can't hate
