A&E used to be pretty damn good, actually. TLC was full of science and history shows (which didn't contain aliens, prophecies, and sometimes not even Hitler), and A&E was like the home of re-runs of good-to-great 70s shows.

In my case it was mostly people I was actually dating somewhat long term, and I don't think they were lying. But in hindsight the ratio is probably closer to 50% now that I'm going through and thinking about each one in detail.
