He's racist because you didn't like his smile? Seriously?

"You see, the trouble with windbags is that you cannot shut them up."

2007

Yeah, and that's a perfectly good reason to prefer it (no snark here, it is). Like what you like, you don't need to have bullshit excuses for why.

Well, as I said above I'd submit that "hearing the frames" is bullshit in 90% of cases (with an appropriate mix and bitrate). They WANT to hear a difference, so they do.

To be fair, there are a lot of problems with digital mixes - it's not the physical media, it's how stuff was put onto that media that is the issue. So you're probably not wrong that the difference is there, just identifying the wrong cause of it.

But isn't the Marvel Universe more internally consistent, at the end of the day?

I haven't read anything DC's published in the past 5 years, but I read most of the stories here, and holy shit they seem to be a bunch of useless dickbags. I mean, I was always a Marvel guy back in the day, but I was never under the illusion that there was much to that difference beyond a meaningless Coke/Pepsi style

Replying to your comment above - one of the many stupid fucking things I've done was back in high school playing frisbee with old vinyl records, in a room with cinderblock walls. No one got hurt, but holy shit it's a miracle because those fuckers would shatter, and we'd still throw them after they became giant ragged

I want to be snarky and call you a fucking horrible hipster person and hate you from afar, but that really does sound kind of cool. Like half the other people here, I found out about a lot of good music through swapping mixtapes. Keep on rocking.

Said this above, but I'd be willing to bet money you couldn't tell the difference blindfolded, provided the CD mix was good and the LP wasn't scratchy.

This objection applies to a lot of articles here, but not this one.

I'd be interested in looking at some data from blind comparisons - can someone, say, reliably identify if the same song is being played on a high-end record player with a bitchin' amp and fantastic speakers, vs a 480 kps mp3 played over the same speakers?

I've got a 2007 with both.

My Toyota Sienna has a tape player, which I have one of those audio-jack to tape things that I plug my phone into, and then I become the hardest white ass motherfucker in a minivan blasting Ice Cube out the windows in East Van.

Oh I know of them, and I've definitely heard them a few times, but I don't really listen to the radio or watch videos, and I've never really listened, if you know what I mean.

Short Skirt, Long Jacket? Damn, this is one of the few hatesongs I've ever found myself disagreeing with. But I don't know shit about the Flaming Lips so I can't comment on anything other than the sidenotes - which there are, fortunately, a lot of.

Don't be stupid, of course it's going to suck.

Last time I cried was, uh… the mid nineties I'm guessing? I'm with @avclub-16db446cafb1ffb1466e71eaf97a4f49:disqus though, I kind of wish I did more.
