If you're interested in some more stuff along the same lines as Homage, I'd recommend Arthur Koestler's three books about those years… uh… I've now forgotten all the names. *checks wikipedia* Spanish Testament, Scum of the Earth, Dialogue with Death. Your library has them all, probably. It's been decades since I've

Replying here since there's no reply button up above… I always liked two things about Keown in comparison to a lot of the other Image guys. First, he's actually pretty cartoony in a lot of cases - it's not a perfect analogy, but he's more like a Jeff Smith than a McFarlane. Second, and related, he's a lot <>cleaner

I think Dale Keown doesn't get enough credit as an interesting artist, both on The Hulk and what little he managed to do of PITT. But he obviously wasn't one of Image's big boys.

Someone's already said this here, but the fact that Mumia's trial was a complete sham and that he should be retried shouldn't even be up for debate. It was an appalling travesty, and most of the celebs who support him have probably read enough to know why.

Well… is there much indication that he did anything particularly wrong? I mean, I just don't care if some random guy cheated on his wife - he didn't rape anyone, hurt anyone, or anything like that, did he?

Eh, I'm not saying it's an exclusively gay bar song, just all of them play it, on a regular basis (or at least they did when it first came out and for a couple of years thereafter, after which I haven't been to too many gay bars because I finally prayed away the gay or whatever).

And I don't want to generalize, but

Hmmm… I wonder if this is just a function of me being old. Or maybe just having unusual bars in my hometown or something. But I remember reading that in New York in the early 80's gay clubs were one of the best places to go see hip-hop. Might just be something about being more accepting of out-there music and so forth.
