I got a PS4 as sort of an impulse buy - and while I don't play that much on it, it is nice to have a current generation system (I almost always buy systems a generation late, it seems). Oh, and Infamous is pretty fun.

Finding secrets/easter eggs is one of the single most rewarding aspects of video games. I can't tell you how thoroughly perplexed I was when I first read the "old magazine" in Earthbound. Or the wall-jumping animals in Super Metroid (which obviously served some purpose).
