First I find the characters to be very interesting. Peggy excluded, not really people I'd like to be friends with or related to, but I think they're very interesting personalities, and that's the main reason (outside of the cinematography and design of course)

In college, I discovered Krazy Kat, which has been my strongest and most abiding pop-culture love since The Beatles. And my girlfriend simply did not get it. She thought the art was overrated, the whimsey stupid, the punchlines non-existent, and found the whole thing pretentious.

Studios only have the resources to make a certain number of movies a year, even if they're all profitable. Movie theaters only have so many screens. Every movie that gets made prevents another from happening. Bad movies actually do prevent good movies from being created.
