If they decide to turn this into a five-season monster, we'll get a year of 'darkest timeline West Wing' stories and perhaps Frank battling to win a second term in a presidential election.

Though arguably under more interesting circumstances.

Glad this at least shows a little promise. It's starting up here in the UK on the 20th, and I'm keen to put some crunchy sci fi back into my schedule. It's been a while.

The sudden news about Pierce didn't have any emotional resonance for me either. I suspect it's written-in to set up a real examination of the group, post-Pierce, in the next episode.

I'm not sure about this, and I guess it's kind of a micro-spoiler about the series finale (in that it discloses something that doesn't happen), but here goes: wasn't it kind of on the cards for a little while to have the last scene of the last episode basically confirm that the entire thing had been going on inside

Ohhh thanks for helping me with that.

Interesting… I really liked this film, but I wasn't crazy about the ending - what did you particularly like about it?

@avclub-7fd1d5cec910c61b1864a51eb7e18cbc:disqus This is exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about.

I'm going to 'like' this, because I feel like you put in a lot of work, and it reveals the important fact that Season 5 won't be all that guest-heavy relative to previous seasons.

So, let's just be clear: this thread consists of a bunch of pretty big guys pointing and snickering at a bigger guy. Because… what, you'd like to know how it feels to be dishing it out for a change?

Luther seems pretty scary to me at times. How about (SPOILERS) Season 1, Episode 3 (the one with the guy who captures women and slowly drains out their blood), or Season 2, Episode 1 (masked guy) or 3 (seemingly causeless yet plausible brutality)?

The Wormhole Aliens basically displace that entire Dominion fleet into a different time, right? I always wondered if we would learn the ramifications of that. Are they sent to the far future and ignored as gnats by 30th Century Federation cruisers? Or do they scrape together a civilization in the galaxy's formative

Well done for this.

Never know, this series could end up with a nice big dollop of Central.

Tightrope is a really fantastic track.

Indeed. It feels like a routine kind of point-docking for the album's more pop-like sensibility. Definitely deserves an A or A-.

I dunno. Dance Apocalyptic is a great single choice.

@avclub-c6447300d99fdbf4f3f7966295b8b5be:disqus Frankly, I think it's completely plausible that the professor set the machine up wrong and looped time back around to Fry stepping into the cryogenics lab with a pizza. It's probably a better ending than the one that was written, after all (though the ending as-written

You win.

There's a hint of John Stuart Mill here, sure - but the direct inspiration is far more likely to be the utilitarianism Jeremy Bentham, he of the panopticon.
