Just to add to that stray observation on earbuds vs. TV - this show is downright scary at night with good volume on decent headphones. Feels pretty pedestrian and kid-friendly at daytime on the TV.

This strikes me as a very harsh grade - it almost seems unconnected from the written review, which is pretty balanced.
And Bob's Burgers fans!
[Obligatory 'Rick and Morty has pretty great art' comment here]
Yeah, the UK reviews were extremely negative and slightly worried about the use of overblown gay stereotypes.
Wait, we don't use 'Lost' as our shitty finale shorthand?
The thing is, this discussion makes me love ASOIAF so, so much. The whole point is that the violence begets more violence. It's not something to shy away from.
I'm trying to think of some scenario where trust/fellowship/honour are actively rewarded in these stories. It's tricky because sometimes it seems like this universe's 'punishment' for heroism can take a little while to come around…
Interesting point re: the lack of devils, or archetypical, abstract evil. Each of Martin's world's religious belief systems is resistant or opposed to each of the others - they all play devil to each other.
Very well put. If Martin has a manifesto with these stories, then it's about unseating, usurping, undermining and inverting the norms of the fantasy genre at every opportunity.
Fringe!
Nope. An ex girlfriend accused him of being violent at one point but the charges were dropped. From the Irish Sunday Mail investigation:
Our only option is to make this comments thread last forever.
This comment is both plausible and extremely upsetting.
Chances of a pick-up by some other network (Netflix, Hulu)?
Hmm - my top five of the season doesn't look like Todd's top five *at all*. Mine would probably go like…
If it sticks the landing with the last few episodes, I suspect that season 5 might end up being my favourite season of community overall. It feels like it's been evenly influenced by the best of the first three Harmon seasons, and it's managed an extraordinary, months-long run without anything that I'd be tempted to…
I'm not sure he can ever be 'grounded', but he's definitely funny as hell again.
Stick with it though man. You've got some incredible episodes coming up. I'd consider listening to the tour in chronological order, though - it's got a genuine story arc to it, appropriately enough.
You're not the only one who got kind of riled up at that particular episode. When it first dropped there really was a hell of a ruckus. One of the most uncomfortable hours of content in the whole of harmontown (which already has more than its share of moments that make you kind of shuffle in your seat and look away).
