The TV Club here is why I went back watching broadcast shows I like when they actually air. I hadn't done that in years. So I guess that's a small +1 in the "internet is not destroying TV" column.

My strategy for Game of Thrones is to use Blockbuster's mail service free 30 day trial they keep offering. I have done this twice already, as Blockbuster only asks for a new email address every time. I just wait for a slow month and catch up on the non-streaming movies and TV as much as possible. (Never actually pay

Ben's identical twin brother, who changed his last name on the advice of his agent upon moving to LA.

Shit you guys, I still haven't watched season 2 of Party Down. Is there anyone who can list off their favorite eps from that season so I can at least catch the highlights?

@avclub-22eda830d1051274a2581d6466c06e6c:disqus I know that the update to the Wii that came out a few months ago really fucked up the streaming quality for two weeks or so, then seemed to gradually go back to the level it was at before. So hopefully your issues on the 360 will correct themselves.

That's because Firth can actually convey personal moments with warmth. Portman sounded like she was giving the nominees a stern lecture about something.

*slow clap*

That happened during a musical performance, something the Oscar producers cut this year to save us from the boredom of spontaneous moments and singing muppets.

I'm going to put the tumblr link to Jean sleeping on people here, because I can't get enough of it.

I liked him in Cyrus. It wasn't a huge stretch for him, but there were subtle variations on his usual style and it served the movie well. That's more than I can say about Cera.

I was just listening to your podcast from Jan 30th (with Hardwick, Proops, Levine, and Lennon) an couple days ago while doing dishes. It was so funny at one point I had to sit down on the ground and collect myself, a steak knife I was putting away still in my hand. Right at that same moment my husband comes home to

When I was a kid I thought Great Glass Elevator was better, because it seemed darker and weirder, and well, I was a dark and weird kid. I like to think it was my stepping stone to Kurt Vonnegut's sci-fi novels (with Hitchhiker's Guide as an intermediary).

On my 14th birthday party my friends and I saw Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me. I also pretended it was just as good as the first one for at least a week or two.

I was ok with the Green Album. At least it was still playable, unlike Maladroit which is when I gave up completely.

I made my mom dive me to the CD store to get No Doubt's second album Return of Saturn. Ugh. So disappointed that Gwen wasn't the badass chick I thought she was.

Just chiming in to give a mention to Tekkonkinkreet. I'm not a big anime fan either but I loved that one. I also thought Steamboy was worth a watch, it's by the Akira director but actually has more of a Studio Ghibli feel.

I know, but if you went to the trouble to get it printed, waited until October or so, and put it up in the middle of a cluster of actual campaign signs, that would be so awesome.

Well it sure was when I was drunk last night!

I want to know the "real" Champion's story. Like how a three legged dog made it in Hollywood. That would be a great DVD feature.

Good point. But even on a relative scale, it's very hard to give Parks and Rec a C or lower. It just feels wrong somehow.
