My mother always had them in the house, probably because she grew up British and poor. But it was always a normal thing for me, we used to eat them hot on toast or in a sandwich with tomato and mayo. It wasn't until I started living on my own that I realized most of my countrymen were disgusted by my canned fish

I will give it a go then. So Mirren has had to carry the weight of actually acting alongside a mugging Brand twice now, that's just… odd. I wonder if they're drinking buddies back in Britain or something. I'd like for that to be true because Mirren would probably drink him under the table in that scenario.

A little off topic, I have yet to hear anything good about The Tempest, but I really enjoyed Titus, which I remember getting mixed reviews. Is it really that much worse that I shouldn't bother seeing it?

I actually thought he was funny in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, in which he basically plays himself but was cast right. Likewise he plays the same character in Get Him To The Greek and was still funny, but the miscasting of Jonah Hill is what makes that one sub-par. When he tried to actually portray a character in

Or you just need to date more interesting women.

And they completely wasted Lizzy Caplan as a generic love interest who falls for a drugged out Cusack after hearing his time travel story. Instead of thinking he's batshit crazy and getting the fuck out of there like any other rational person would do.

I agree. The Thor on Earth parts were way too brief and the exposition in space dragged on forever. I actually would see a sequel now that all of the backstory is out of the way. Although once I realized Kat Dennings was in the movie I really wished she could have been the female lead. Typical Hollywood- girl with

Shadyac was involved in Evan Almighty, so the picture is archival footage of that. Too bad they don't actually have 'roles' in the movie, whenever Freeman narrates anything it instantly becomes 30% more profound. That is true statistical fact.

The dinosaur? Because the rotating cast of child actors actually manage to be even more annoying. They can't even manage to lip-sync the songs correctly. (I have a young kid so I've been forced to think about this too much)

Will and Grace, Frasier, Desperate Housewives (yep, all of them… I really hate that show)

From listening to his commentaries on the Six Feet Under DVDs, he seems to have a lot of interesting input on how it was shot, what they were trying to convey- even when he wasn't the writer of the episode. That's what leads me to believe he was very invested in the show. I recommend listening to his commentary on any

Mine right now is Sons of Anarchy. I'm a little behind, on Season 2 on Netflix, so people who claim it actually becomes great by season 3 may be right. But right now I just put it on because even when I get bored with the soap-opera- like storylines I know it won't be long before someone gets shot or screwed or set on

I still can't believe how quickly that show went to shit. Not even a slow transition into mediocrity like Dexter or a wrong turn at the end like BSG, it was just immediately unwatchable by season 2. How does that even happen?

I have two theories. The first is that after putting all his creative lifeforce into Six Feet Under (which I agree is one of the all time greats) he was spent and just wanted to have some stupid lusty blood-soaked fun. I wouldn't blame him for that, and while some may argue with me I think he did a great job making a

(spoilers I guess)
Rory should have ended up with Jess. It seemed like he was always the one she had a true connection with. At least she FINALLY broke up with Logan, he was such a smarmy little twat.

The rumors are that writer/creator Amy Sherman-Palladino had a lot of conflicts with the network to the point where she purposely lessened her involvement with the sixth season and completely left by the seventh. I don't know what the problem was, but it really is a shame, the show is so dependent on the rhythm of her

Yes please please pretty please! It's a great show to re-watch (as I do often).

I like how we posted the same opinion of Limitless at pretty much the same time. Talk about an overrated movie.

I think Mean Girls still holds up, there really isn't much fake slang. In fact the whole 'fetch' part makes fun of the fake slang trope, and now people still say "Stop trying to make _____ happen!" all the time. A better example of bad fake slang would be Juno.

I found Ponyo to be disappointing after Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. Maybe I would have appreciated it more if my expectations weren't so high.
