I got annoyed with that too… 
and then I remembered that I'm 41, he referenced the Snorks for crying out loud, and that 70's SHAZAM - while awesome in a way that only 70's things can be awesome - was pretty damn stupid.  Now Dr. Shrinker and Electro Woman and Dyna Girl, that's something this youngster missed out on!

I see a lot of well meaning 20-somethings made very uncomfortable by the 70's deconstruction of racism that this sketch, admirably and hilariously, is a big part of.  I remember it being liberating but I can see the modern disconnect. I liked a lot of it.  Depp as a vampire is something you'd think someone would have done before - and he was great.  The witchie poo was awesome. The rest was… well, I wasn't bored.  But there's no reason to see it again. Ever.  There's my review of DARK SHADOWS:

I think he means something like what Red Letter Media was pointing out in their recent Half in the Bag video review of Amazing Spider-Man.  The more often they reboot something - 'specially if they do it poorly - the less of an event a new movie or version will be.  I think he means that.
