"If the St. Elmo's Fire is what you meant, it was in context. Homer said, "When you drive, we'll listen to what you want." The joke isn't what Lisa likes listening to, but that Homer allows Lisa to drive."

"If you don't know that Marge dyes, I don't know what to say."

Seconds? Now that's just sad. Why not go for the gusto? Believe in yourself!

Aside from the Eternal Hatred from Baby Jesus I'd just chalk it up the usual redesign rollout bugs and quirks.

Well you could always go with AGSCEoSDiaBoS. It just rolls off the tongue!

And so on and so forth…

You could easily fill an entire article or two on Nixon references and appearances on "The Simpsons" alone.

The horror
Ug… "Full House" ran for eight fuckin' years?! God, that's just disgusting.

Stephen Root
Absolutely one of the most talented, versatile and underrated actors working today. The guy really is amazing.

It's the new sliced bread.

Yay!
Thanks for bringing this back. At last - something to tide me over until Donna picks up her "Newsradio" column in Dec. Of course, I guess this means I'll now have to devote a least one of Netflix spots to SNL.

Lineups
Bill holding court and returning all the items he stole from the WNYX staff reminds me a bit of a similar scene in The Simpsons episode "Lisa's Date with Density" where Nelson was forced to give back all the things he stole and "apologize" to each person as they came up and claimed their stuff:

"It's all -consuming to Dave, to the point that he ever snaps at his boss, but it's barely noticeable to other people. That's what makes it so great to me."

Your name amuses me.

Bill and Dave's suits
"Jeers for Bill's three-piece brown number in "LZ." "

Yes you are. The actress is Lynnda Ferguson. I think Phil's actual wife, Brynn, had a small part in a "3rd Rock from the Sun" episode shortly before their deaths.

I think the quality of the show remained consistent through the first three seasons. Sometime during the fourth season though the writing became inconsistent and much broader. The characters seemed to be veering into parodies of themselves. I've always felt it was the immense collective talent of the cast that kept

(Rats…mis-posted this originally up there…)

"Really, are there more than 10 or 20 movies out there that you're going to watch enough times to justify the cost of purchasing rather than renting?"

Jimmy's proposal to Melanie
No acknowledgement of the excellent bit in which Jimmy cuts to the chase and proposes (business style) to Melanie? I loved that scene. It was played perfectly by both Stephen Root and Natalia Nogulich.
