"I'M TALKING TO YOU PEOPLE!"
"I'M TALKING TO YOU PEOPLE!"
Bill's tormenting of Matthew in "Negotiation" is one of my favorite bits of the series. Particularly the scene where he "plants" the cards on Dave (via a card trick) and then disappears leaving Dave to be caught red-handed by Matthew.
Bad Eggs
Well, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who enjoyed the episode "Bad Eggs". I thought that episode was a lot of fun, even if it was just a MOTW. Loved the Gorch Brothers and their interactions with Buffy (particularly the ending showdown).
Was it the bagel or the box of chocolates that did it?
This week's review
Great review Donna. I completely agree with "Bill's Autobiography" and your analysis of the Beth/Sandy story in "Friends". I have to say though that I loved the Bill/guards B-story (it's one of the things that helps make the episode re-watchable). I thought both Luc and Huss gave excellent…
Everyone needs a hobby!
"always thought he's trying to psych himself up - from his reaction when he finds Bill behind him, I assumed that he had thought he was 'safe' to speak."
How about those 8" floppies, eh? Anyone ever see any of those in real life and outside of a museum?
I read somewhere that the original line was "It should say "can't"". NBC apparently balked at that and insisted on the change. If this is true it's another sad instance of network cowardice and interference ruining a great joke. The original line is much funnier and makes more sense (what would the typo be for "pushy"…
Hmmm. I haven't found that to be the case. I don't have to post something new to see my old posts outlined in red. I just need to be logged in.
As long as we're publishing our wishlists here, I'd love some sort of "go to the first unread" comment feature. I admit I've become addicted to that little button in one of the forums I read. Maybe in the AV Clubs case, since the comments nest, unread comments (tracked since your last login and thread visit) could be…
"What I'VE always wanted in commentaries is for the episode dialogue to be up, then muted, or even the action paused, for the commentator's thoughts"
I was prepared to hate the Planbee plot line and character but I have to say that Lauren Graham did a really good job with her role and the mini-arc of the efficiency expert and the gang's interaction with her wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Even if it did lead -in a roundabout way - to the whole "Matthew…
"2. Dave presiding over Ted's funeral. 'And apparently, he was a devoted member of the Ku Klux Klan.'"
Last 15 seconds of "Rat Funeral"…
I nominate the last 15 seconds of "Rat Funeral" as one of the top five funniest moments in the series.
Still more wardrobe notes
" Looks like the wardrobe department has finally figured out how to dress our Lisa"
Especially that pink number she wore in the practical jokes episode…
"No, no, no!!! Matthew as the dentist was necessary and perfect! He's a professional - and HE'S ACTUALLY COMPETENT AT SOMETHING."
Magnolia: It's not my favorite episode but I certainly like it, particularly the very ending (with the workman and Dave).
Bucky Calloway: I agree completely. I just watched the entire Newsradio show for the first time about a month ago. I originally wanted to see it for Phil Hartman (and, of course, he was fantastic) but I was really surprised to see such a strong ensemble - especially Stephen Root. His timing and mannerisms were…
