Quick cuts of naked butts in the early 70s weren't such a big deal. Nicholas Roeg was taken to task by the censor board to cut the sequence, and he had to show it to them again to prove there weren't any so-called "pornographic" shots. Turns out they couldn't find any shots that crossed the line, so it was kept as-is.

"..graphic sex scenes" No. It was one of the best editing-sleight-of-hand sequences in film history. So many people remembered it as graphic, but watch it again and you'll see a beautifully choreographed tease of quick cuts, and no naughty bits.

Worth the wait for me:
- Guardians of the Galaxy
- Under The Skin
- Whiplash
- Big Hero 6
- Blue Ruin
- True Detective
And although it doesn't count as 2014, the Swedish series "The Bridge" was incredible. Watched the entire first season in two nights.
The big winner for me is Whiplash. Here's a film that was made for $3

This sounds EXACTLY like what a description of "jazz" is by someone who never listens to jazz. What a wanky mess of nothing by musicians who should know better.

Ubisoft seems to love making their main protagonists unlikeable thugs, using the excuse of "lost wife/girlfriend/family" as justification for the tired old revenge scenario. 5 minutes into Splinter Cell conviction and I thought "Why do I want to play an asshole for the next few hours?" And now this, with another

True. The whole ad business is full of weasels, some that make Pete Campbell look like a saint, so by that logic, there'd be a killing spree on Madison Avenue every week.

Thank you! First guy I thought of too! And that annoying Alexander Fitzhugh from Land of the Giants. Irwin Allen's shows always included an annoying asshat.

Oh, I hope Mr. Bay pounds the living shit out of this ugly franchise with his patented Stupid Hammer. Having suffered the pain of drawing these hideous creatures for a contract years ago, I learned to loath the turtles and their ill-conceived anatomies.
To all the fans, and those young enough to have grown up loving

Fran Kubelik (played by Shirley Maclaine) in The Apartment. Instantly smitten by her charm and sweet face.

Devil Doll…now that would be an interesting remake, though Scorsese would probably cast Leo DiCaprio as the dummy.

Very odd that neither Scott nor Tasha spoke of the book it was adapted from. It's very clearly a faithful adaptation of a very popular book, and perhaps there are some parallels with Scorsese's childhood, but that may be partly why he was interested in making the film. In the hands of other directors making a

Who gives a shit who stars in this film, or even what it's called. Brad Bird directed it. Shut up and take my money. Seriously. The man should be teaching Hollywood directors how to tell stories properly.

Wow, so much twangy-folky stuff with guys who sing falsetto on these lists.

Because, with 54 versions (yes, 54 - look it up on IMDB) I guess it's time for another clueless producer to experience dismal box office returns. I smell direct-to-DVD.

Hey Disney…
Audience member says Disney doesn't matter when it comes to making successful movies.

He was amazing in Boorman's The General
Another film that has fallen off the radar, but an unforgettable performance by Gleeson.

Oh yeah, that REM album is in my top ten of worst album covers by a popular band. I guess they couldn't afford to pay the 5 bucks to their nephew, so they got some bum on the street to barf on some paper and write the titles.

J. Geils Band - Freeze Frame

I think this has got to be ugly-on-purpose art. My roommate back in those days would wake me up early after a party playing "Centerfold" full blast. Made me hate that cover even more.

A mistake to choose this character for a feature film
I Loved Mr. Show, but I felt that the Dobbs sketch went on too long when I first saw it, and also felt that the whole story was told in that sketch. With all the amazing ideas over three seasons, I was also excited about the movie coming out. When I had read that

@That Guy - Not when Groening left for Futurama, but when David S. Cohen (David X. Cohen on the credits) left for Futurama. He is the real genius behind that series. Matte Groening came up with the general concept and dropped in now and then to suggest some ideas, which were for the most part not used.
