All the Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes is great. I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned here.
I love them both. I don't know that I'd call Bonham the greatest, but he's up there. But as others have mentioned, both of them were so key to the sound of their bands. I feel the same way about Mitch Mitchell - he was very important to the sound of Hendrix's first records.
Not to mention the fact that if your drummer insists on bringing a huge kit to gigs it just adds to the setup & teardown times. I've seen plenty of guys do amazing things with really sparse kits.
Hey, thanks for that. It's always interesting to hear musicians talk about other instruments. I play guitar and can barely keep a competent beat on a drum kit, but I know nothing on a technical level about playing, so it's cool to hear stuff like that.
Yeah, the Dream Theater guy is the one I hear the most.
I totally get the "classic dad rock" thing, but that's also why I don't watch tv commercials or listen to commercial radio. Too much stuff gets spoiled.
