Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when 'Sports' came out in '83, I think they came into their own commercially and artistically.

Yeah, it was good not great. It reminds me of Cool World in that it flopped (in part) because the studio couldn't figure out why people would want to see it and couldn't advertise it, plus it seemed like the editor had two completely different takes on what the movie was.
