The Promise is a fucking classic record and so far this is sounding pretty great too. Love that these dudes (or I guess “this dude and some other dudes”) are still making records.

I only know them from seeing them open for QOTSA (and … And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead) but they rocked my fucking ass at that show and I immediately ran to the merch table after their set and bought Fall of the Plastic Empire, which I still listen to fairly often

Our Tea Party mainly involved ripping off The Doors

Odd Squad is actually a pretty great show. I've L'ed OL a few times watching it with my kid and there are lots of Canadian comedy celebrity cameos if that's something that impresses you

Hot Tub Time Machine?

I read it as him not wanting to hear them bitching after working with her for only one scene, since he'd been putting up with her for ages by that point

Allroy’s Revenge is the only album by ALL or Descendents that I still regularly listen to so I guess if you’re asking me, my opinion would be that this isn’t as good.

Not jawesome, pairesta. Not jawesome at all.

I'm embarrassed by how much I related to that song in 1996.

I was also introduced to Limp Bizkit via the ’97 Warped Tour and they still remain the worst “professional” band I have ever seen. Same deal, they played the first slot of the day and were mercilessly heckled by the sparse crowd, then Durst responded with hostility and the crowd turned on them even more. I think they

Whenever I read “BFG” my mind automatically goes to old school Toronto hardcore legends Bunchofuckingoofs

I once bought a tile saw entirely with Canadian Tire money. It took the cashier about 45 minutes to count it all.

Or alternately, Brotherhood dudes who were eyeing him earlier like they knew precisely who he was come back to kill everyone and go “Hey, has anyone seen that big dude with the axe?”
*sound of wood being chopped a few hundred feet away*
“Anyone?”
*thwack*
“No one’s seen him?”
*thwack*
“OK, never mind then”

Well, hello there.

Kinda disappointed to see only a C+ rating since I've been hotly anticipating this album basically ever since Blood Pressures (which was one of my favourite albums of whatever year that was) but the review makes it sound much better than that score would indicate. Still looking forward to checking this out this weekend

Geezer was the lyricist in the early Sabbath days, so let’s not pin that one on Ozzy

If only the Specials had written that song!

The funny thing about this is that Pavement (who were also signed to Matador) were fond of the same kinds of homages.

I'll keep an eye out for you! I'll be the average height, average build guy with greying/receding brown hair. Probably in some combination of T-shirt and shorts. You can't miss me!

Yeah, I was never that into the Headstones either but I saw them a few times just because they were always playing somewhere (my wife was actually more of a fan than I was and she also dragged me to see them at least once). Really fun live band though and Hugh Dillon was always a confrontational madman onstage.
