Some Kind of Munster

We were camping on the weekend and could hear them howling off in the distance which was cool, but waking up in the middle of the night and hearing them yipping and barking (they don't really "bark", but you know) around our campsite was less cool.

Someone here emailed me the other day to ask what my email address was.

Aw man, why'd you have to mention the Wiggles?

YouTube can be a great depression killer (just stay away from the comments, that'll send you right back to square one).

Whiskeytown – Top Dollar
Queens of the Stone Age – In The Fade
Metallica – Orion
Mighty Mighty Bosstones – Dogs and Chaplains (fuck you, it's awesome)
Superchunk – Blending In (this song makes me wish Jim Wilbur took the lead and Superchunk indulged their '80s hardcore obsession more often).

Hey! Orion showed up in my shuffle today too!

Yeah, I've been meaning to stitch all those tracks together for years and still haven't gotten around to it. I kind of admire them for making everything about that album annoying (as I recall it's even packaged "backwards" so I was always trying to open the CD case the wrong way) but mainly it just pisses me off.

He's Mister Green Christmas, he's Mister Sun
He's Mister Heat Blister, he's Mister Hundred-and-one!

I'm not so sure about the dating either – my wife and I started dating before cellphones became completely ubiquitous – but I definitely think the phone thing is having an effect on gatherings with friends. It's so easy to change plans at the last minute or give a "Yeah, I'll try to be there – I'll give you a call if

@avclub-7a5a3fe4ae33de425d06ac4fe8d097d2:disqus Well, Sluggo's been promising to reveal his identity soon…

All I know is that I don't know nothin'

I've only seen an IHOP in Niagara Falls and I think only Americans were eating there. Canadians go to the Flying Saucer:

I smell burned toast!

I feel this is a safe place so I'm coming out of the closet too – I'm also a Canadian who hates poutine. Shit's nasty.

Fuck yeah, Barkmarket ruled and it's always bugged me that they're mostly forgotten – especially since frontman Dave Sardy was/is a pretty big record producer. Every time I heard about him producing a Chili Peppers album or something I wanted to scream at everybody that this dude used to be in an AWESOME band.

No, I only work there.

Yes I can:

At the time I surely would have hassled you for buying a Rush album, but yes, history has proven you correct.

I saw it in Toronto and I think SNFU was the official headliner (my memory's a bit fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure they were on last) but Quicksand were definitely the biggest draw of the day and everything after them (including an incredibly drunk and sloppy L7) was kind of anticlimactic.

I only managed to see them once, at the first Warped Tour in '95 and they were fucking incredible, even in the mid-afternoon and playing only a short festival set (I think they ended up going over time, cutting into the set by another of my favourite bands of the era, Tilt). I still really wish I'd seen them in a club
