Thanks for clearing that up – i was wondering that too since it didn't sound like they'd crossed into Mexico at all.

Oh yeah, I didn't even notice that @avclub-b6e5391be8277308d0801a0be95ac706:disqus  mentioned beans – my brain immediately assumed it would be peas.

@avclub-6beb5f589a9fd04c21fcd50db3d9c80c:disqus Heh, we used to do that too and always challenged each other to eat it without the sugar.

I like to add a dollop of honey, some butter, fresh parsley and some black pepper to a bunch of chopped carrots and wrap them in foil and bake on the grill. It's the best.

For some reason that was known as "shipwreck" in my house. Hated it as a kid but it's one of my favourite comfort food dishes now.

A couple of friends and I have been trying to coordinate a group purchase of a side of beef for a couple of years now but we've never all had the cash/freezer space at the same time. Maybe we should aim a little lower and start with a pig?

She likes it well enough with strawberries (coincidentally, I ate some strawberry-rhubarb Acitvia yogurt today and it was pretty good but barely noticeably rhubarb-y) and doesn't exactly HATE it on its own but it's never going to be one of her favourites. I, on the other hand love rhubarb and actually prefer it

Honestly, it had its challenges, but it was pretty fun and the kid is an easy-going, adaptable little bugger so as long as we kept her occupied she was happy and we were happy.
We bought a cheap portable DVD player in anticipation of this trip and it was worth every penny – definitely helped on the six hour drive and

Ah, yes Fall… when the pancetta is finally ripe!

I was camping most of last week, so we didn't cook anything too adventurous (as we anticipated, camping with a 20-month-old is a bit of a bitch, so we brought a lot of pre-cooked food we'd made in advance and stuff that was easy to assemble with minimal effort).

Me neither, and I'm a dude who had a fairly distant dad with whom I only ever talked about sports so it should have been right up my alley. Maybe if he'd built a giant ice rink in his corn field instead of a baseball diamond it would have meant more to me?
