Sure, don't you remember all those Half Japanese performances where Ren would stop in mid-song and exclaim, "Jad, you eediot!" It was like a Smothers Brothers routine, but funny.

Oh well.

I WOULDA WROTE YOU A LETTER BUT I COULD SPELL "PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKE."
Well, actually, I just did, kind of. But it doesn't really capture the guttural retching elicited by this article.

I was a dirty bird, Tasha's not grungy, she's bitchin'. Still, the only time I've seen the word "bitchen" in print was in People magazine in 1982 when "Square Pegs" was on the air and People was giving a rundown on all that hip, jazzy, super cool, neat, keen, and groovy Valley girl slang. I rest my case.

MANNHEIM STEAMROLLER
Whenever I hear that version of "Deck the Halls" I go nuts like Roger Rabbit when someone sings "Shave and a haircut." I hear that "Deck the halls with bows of holly" and then there's no "Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la la la." It's brutal if you like to have call and response closure.

IT'S " BITCHIN' " NOT " BITCHEN "
Ever listen to the Dead Milkmen, for chrissakes?

Matthew Lillard mugging shamelessly
…sounds way more entertaining than Ryan Reynolds, Erik Whoeverthefuck and Dash Neverheardofhim moping around. Sounds horrible, regardless.

"The Savages" is on my must-see list
"Slums of Beverly Hills" was a good'un. Unassuming, funny and perceptive, true to life feel. This new one sounds like a clear winner, and with Philip Seymour Hoffman and Laura Linney, it's a no-brainer.

Oh yeah, thanks for the heads up, you guys.

Never heard of it before, but it sounds amazing from what I've read. Just the kind of weirdo lost classic movie I'm always on the lookout for. The used VHS prices on Amazon are outrageous, though. Looks like the director put it out on DVD himself. You can email him directly to order a copy, but I just ordered it

ANYBODY BESIDES ME EVER SEEN
Little Noises, from 1992? Crispin Glover plays failed would-be writer who achieves literary acclaim by stealing the poetry of his mute friend. Tatum Oneal and Rik Mayall are in it. It's a great little flick that almost nobody seems to have heard of. Unfortunately it's not on DVD yet,

WHAT IS THIS, MWOF?
My Week of Flakes? First Jeremy Davies, now Crispin Glover. That said, Crispin Glover is awesome.

BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS ONE
I always liked "To Sleep with Anger" but never had the opportunity to see this one. I'll be picking it up ASAP.

TRYING TO IMAGINE WARREN BEATTY TALKING ABOUT COMIC BOOKS

I bother, when I'm bored, but I head to the A.V. Club first.

One more thing
There's a good goddamn reason that you're taken out of first-person view after hoovering up a fallen enemy: you're often coming under heavy fire when doing so, so it's usually in your best interest to skedaddle for cover quickly, which is much easier to do in third person.

Greatest game ever
In my opinion.

Thanks for the reply, but it was definitely NOT a comedy. Although I was too young to have recognized it as such at the time, it definitely had a sort of neo-realism downer vibe. No happy endings here, folks. I wish I could come up with an answer, this thing is just haunting me now.

Oh yeah, it's all Lugosi's fault. Don't you remember the 1931 original with Karloff strutting down the street like a monstrous version of Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever?

Wait, never mind. A quick Google search shows that there is an Aimee Mann song called "Frankenstein." I had no clue. Not a fan.
