Terrence actually.
Terrence actually.
I like them for their relative cheapness sometimes. I'd hate for them to completely go for a CGI type of creature. They seem to walk the line between laughable like the original series and being too shiny and glossy.
here it stuck out more because of the scale I think.
Buzz said they must have just raided the wardrobe department like they did for the cantina scene in Star Wars.
They did that. It was called Green Wing, and was fantastic.
I'd say that it straddles both sides of that equation. It can be watched as light fun and also as serious sci-fi. That's really the greatness of the concept.
Agree with you completely regarding Suketh.
He's one of the few beings the Doctor seems genuinely terrified of the possibilities of.
'Dalek' would be my other go to example of a great single episode.
My boyfriend and I watched that the other day and I forgot just how bloody well done it was and the perfect length.
It started slow, but it's definitely improving steadily. I would say the lack of multiple parters is a slight pain, but I can live with that if the story is good enough.
Don't know why they don't do 60 minutes when there's no ads on the Beeb given it's state funded.
If I had to say it must be they do 45 for overseas distribution where the show will be shown with ads and so not needed to be cut up.
I'd disagree slightly here as he's not going around saying this just from a position of perceived cultural superiority where everyone not from Gallifrey or Earth is a bunch of savages. Really if anything it's sort of space-atheism where he doesn't believe in the idea of deities because he's a man of logic,…
Mine's that she's The spirit of The Master floating through the cosmos.
lolz i just created humans. YOLO. :P
It's like a Rosalind Russell/Cary Grant in His Girl Friday the way they speak.
I guess I'm a little biased as she does tend to talk a mile a minute like me.
This episode reminded me of my 18th birthday back home. Some god gave me an intoxicating potion and sucked up all memories of that night the next morning.
All the celestial deities conclude all communication with mere mortals with emoticons.
Strax the happy Sontaran!
Pretty much. I did watch Asylum of the Daleks once or twice, but that's about it.
All I remember was something about some race deciding humans needed to be wiped out for some unexplained reason.
That episode frustrates me all over the place. I did find it pretty compelling, but the lack of explanation irks.
I agree on that. There's a difference between sad and effected and being soul crushingly glum.
Yeah definitely one to bring back sometime, as long as the story works. No more of him wanting to do something as prosaic as steal a TARDIS.
