Honestly though that tortured persona was getting really tedious well before The End Of Time, and I'm glad they've let the character lighten up a little.

I had the same sort of reaction to Victorian Clara. At least write the character to act more like a woman from that era, but I liked her anyway and wrote it off as part of what they'll reveal the character as.

I think part of the problem is that Amy and Clara are such conventionally attractive characters, and that the show knows their looks will appeal to the male fans, that it's easy for people to think that.
I agree. Small doses. That's always kind of been a companion problem, that the more you see them the more annoying they can get.
