I was really glad to see the locket resurface. Last week I thought a much better ending would've been for Robin Sr. to reveal that he had dug up the locket after secretly watching Robin bury it. (Imagine a great night time raid by Ray Wise). Then he'd present it to Barney after proving worthy in lazer tag, causing

FYI Genevieve, "Sweet Dee's Dating a Retarded Person" is from the third season, not the first season. It's my favorite episode, and I think the funniest season.

No love for Commissions and Fees, @avclub-7aee1b75b527e215f31e20a5c4e7a768:disqus?

I had similar thoughts. Though the episode was pretty funny, for me that ending with Ted fake going to his future wife's apartment was really weird. It almost seemed like a meta commentary about how the show itself is just spinning wheels until the Mother can finally be introduce. Personally I'd have given this

I have never laughed harder at a broadcast TV show then when Ken said "But really I'll have a whiskey" after pretending to be indignant over being offered (fire) water. Had to pause the TV for 30 seconds as I was laughing so hard I couldn't hear the show.

Yeah I had this goal too, but only made it to about 70 films — Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf was the tipping point for me.

I love, love, love this show (even after this season which has been very mediocre until the Final Page episodes last week). HOWEVER, if they still stretch out the Mother past this season finale, I think I just might give up on the show. Or at the very least I would be extremely disappointed and would knock it down a

I thought the first episode was pretty "eh" until the scene at the gas station where Barney unjinks himself. Then the rest of part 1 and all of part 2 really took off, both emotionally and comically. So overall I'd give the two episodes a combined A-. However, if the cold opening of the next episode includes Barney

I would've give this at least a B- since I think it had some pretty funny lines/moments (it wasn't necessarily "funny" but I loved the Minnesota Twins call back for Judy's tatas).

Is this the first episode in which all of the action took place in a single setting and that setting wasn't the bar? I can't remember too many episodes that didn't involve the bar at all (Maybe "The World Series Defense"?).

I got that, but is Roger someone we're supposed to know?

I was confused about the Sutton from the B plot (which Margaret didn't talk about at all). Was she a character that's already been in a couple of episodes? Pete and everyone interacted with her like she was an old acquaintance, but I honestly don't remember her. And at the end when she gave Pete a -7 rating, she said
