Tom Everett Scott, I nearly forgot about that guy. Remember that very brief period in the mid 90's when he was being touted as a "young Tom Hanks" or something like that?

I'm so used to ironic headlines that my mental voice read "Roger Ebert forced to slow down his workload to deal with cancer" ironically, even though I knew it was a straight headline.

It's a downhill skiing Minotaur.

And vodka-as-sterilizer product placement.

Do black market surgeons count as civilians? I've always been fond of Peter Stormare's demented, unsanitary black market ex-plastic surgeon who swaps out Tom Cruise's eyes in Minority Report.

I love revisiting this article. I worked at Hollywood Video during the tail end of the VHS era and this article perfectly encapsulates the bizarre DTV titles of the "VHS ghetto" one would find.

What's fashionable doesn't concern me. I just think it's dumb as fuck to call Cradle of Filth nu-metal.

Agree with you on the pedophile association.

"Alva? Alva?! AAAALVA?!!! AAAAALLLLLVAAAAAAAAAAAA?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" *clomp clomp clomp* *jumps on desk* "There you are!"
Surprised the article didn't include this clip: http://youtu.be/whcDR-NHEzs

This would've made an interesting viral video for A Dangerous Method.

Having just seen A Dangerous Method, I see more of a JUNG 9000 or Bishop Jung. Androids never get tired of spanking, so that's a plus.

Lemme guess, next month Monkeybone will be Canonized, lauding Whoopi Goldberg & Brendan Fraser as subversive cult icons. And the majority of comments will be Monkeybone quotes.

It was released as a Region-Free NSTC Blu-ray in the UK. Picture/sound quality's not supposed to be that great by modern HD standards, but still an anamorphic upgrade from the DVD.

Ebert & Stephen Hawking. Two computerized voices debating science fiction. Ebert could choose to sound like HAL from 2001.

It's funny, "Saw and Hostel" are usually default references for "torture porn", but I didn't think the first Hostel was remotely so (neither did the exiting audience members complaining that it wasn't gory enough). I considered it more of an update on the "Westerners seduced by exotic-turned-deadly Easterners" trope

From the site's Legal Disclaimer: "Ujam and Cape Road are creating a virtual chorus to perform a chant for the soundtrack of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES motion picture (the “Picture”), **advertising for the Picture** and the soundtrack album for the Picture." (**=my emphasis)

The hands-through-the-wall from the 3rd video clip are swiped from the opening nightmare of Day of the Dead. Unless you want to call it an "homage". Can an homage exist within a ripoff?

I guess Hell of the Living Dead would be a cheesecloth.

Totally. "Second-rate Stephen King", my antiquarian ass. It's like critiquing Cronenberg's Naked Lunch but failing to mention William S Burroughs.
