I was reading recently that "What in the World" from Low was an unfinished track from the Idiot sessions. It has Iggy singing backup:

Dead Ricardo Montalban is still better than Benedict Cumbitch

This movie could have used Ricardo Montalban

Sonny Bono? He wrote "Needles and Pins" for the Searchers.

Dylan was initially a hanger-on for Baez. She was popular, and he was a "guest" at her concerts. A lot of people say he used her to get to the top.

Unfortunately, some of my favorite blues and country artists are actual murderers. If you go back to artists who grew up in the 40's and 50's (or earlier), I think you will find that it was pretty common to think it was ok to "discipline" your women. I was reading in Buddy Guy's recent book where he was talking about

I love Betty Davis…that woman's funk is some of the funkiest funk that ever funked:

The Carter Family: Don’t Forget This Song….
It was so unexpected to see a graphic novel about one of my all time favorite bands. Yeah, I know I'm a geek….as soon as I saw it on Amazon, it was an immediate purchase. Great art and story. It comes with a cd, too.

Love that record. Their version of "Faster Pussycat Kill Kill" is awesome

As a huge Cramps fan….I still say the best version is the original Little Willie John version.

No way….Contours version rules! The song was written by Smokey Robinson, by the way

Link Wray!!!!

Love that film!

wait…..didn't he coin the term "doo doo brown"? It's been used countless times since. He's a pop culture icon. He's just a humble man who doesn't want to appear kanye-esque when referring to his impact on pop culture.

I love Elvis' version of "Are You Lonesome Tonight". However, as a huge Carter Family fan, I have to point to the original version as my favorite:

Memphis is a great town that can be done "on the cheap". One word of warning: I bought a brick from the Stax Records building for $5 at a record store (with a certificate of authenticity). Later, when I drove by the location of the Stax Records building, there was a pile of bricks. LOL. I grabbed another one for free.

Anyone mentioning the Wolf gets an automatic "like" from me. I went to the Sun Studios years ago. Even though you aren't supposed to touch the microphone that Elvis allegedly used, I did when the tour guide wasn't looking. I also sat at Jerry Lee Lewis' piano. Probably all just props….lol. Cheap Thrills.

BLT is a great sandwich

I don't know…the guy becomes famous, knowing what fame entails. Then he makes a spectacle of himself at every possible opportunity. Then he goes even further by having a baby with a Kardashian. Is he not responsible for his celebrity? The guy is begging for attention, and then is pissed off for getting attention.

Yeah, there are a couple of Diddley songs that do have some good writing…."I'm a Man", "Mona", "You Can't Judge a Book by Looking at the Cover".
