I love James Williamson's guitar playing….but he's not an original Stooge. I saw the Tribute to Ron Asheton dvd recently….sorry James, you sounded like crap trying to play Ron Asheton leads. You can't fake that kind of sound.

I could easily be thinking of some other character who got bit by a werewolf. Lol! My memories of 70s comics are hazy at best. I still have those comics packed away somewhere.

I used to read Werewolf By Night when I was a kid, and I remember having the first appearance of Moon Knight. Wasn't his original powers based on being bitten by the werewolf, and he has enhanced strength when there is a full moon? Always thought he had a cool costume.

Shonen Knife definitely should be included

I also saw the original Meters, too. It was probably that same tour. What a great band! It was a tad expensive, but well worth the money. I've also seen Leo Nocentelli in Chicago a couple of times….well worth checking out.

I'm a fan of Prince, but the one time I saw him live (Chicago Theater in the early 90s) the show was lame. If I wanted to see an hour and 1/2 of choreographed dance filled lack of mayhem, I would have watched Bowie's Glass Spider Tour on TV. Prince, I'm suing you for lameness. You, too, David Bowie.

I saw Bunny Wailer in concert a few years back. He started out good…..but when he started doing the stuff off "Blackheart Man", all of the sudden it was awesome. Unbelievably good!

Yeah, I got rid of most of my Peter Tosh solo records except "Legalize It", "Equal Rights"….and I also kept "Bush Doctor"….there's a couple of songs on it I like!

I love The Abyssinians "Satta Massagana"

Yeah, he practically coined the term "Reggae". I was a little surprised that the "Harder They Come" soundtrack wasn't included….somebody further down mentioned that it's not exactly Roots Reggae……it's almost more ska. All the same, no reggae collection is complete without some Toots and the Maytals, and the "Harder

As much as I like "Catch a Fire", I listen to "Burnin'" more.

Love that record. My library has a copy!

lol….the first time I heard it, I was playing it non stop for a week. What a great song!

As a non believer/musician, I find myself listening to both hellfire black gospel and moonshine fueled white gospel all the time. Here's one of James Brown's influences, Archie Brownlee and The Blind Boys of Mississippi:

lol! you are correct, it was Spade Cooley. My apologies to Milton Brown. I didn't delete his music.

Malort on ice

I was about to say the same thing regarding Ronnie Lane

You need to see black women twerking to really see the dance's potential. A skinny white girl with no butt doesn't do it justice

I have a copy of that cd. It's important to support avant garde artists. Especially outsider avant garde artists. My complaint: she only wrote the songs and sang them. The music is all too well played. I remember thinking "should I just download this? Nah…..I want to see Dot succeed!". If she tours, I'm going.

My go to Bowie records:
