I drifted away from pop music, and have been listening to a lot of world music. Plenty of good singers if you don't mind listening to people singing in foreign languages. The woman from Dengue Fever has a great voice (listen to their first 2 cds). I also like Amadou and Mariam, Tinariwen, etc. American music? Sharon

Love Woody's version of Buffalo Skinners, but yeah, that song is as old as dirt. Plenty of Woody's music was adapted from earlier artists, too (Carter Family, Jimmie Rogers, Uncle Dave Macon).

I saw a Sire records tour years ago (well, probably decades ago) that had the Tom Tom Club, Jerry Harrison's Casual Gods, Debbie Harry, and the Ramones. The Tom Tom Club and Jerry Harrison got together to do a couple of Talking Heads songs. It was all pleasant until the Ramones came out. The place went wild. Johnny

"Walking on thin ice" is a great song, as are a couple of her other songs. You can also argue that she's influential (B-52's owe her a debt). She's worked with Ornette Coleman. All the same, it's hard to listen to a whole record of her.

she grew up without dicken? I can help her with that

Tyler Perry never would have done something like that!

I saw Earl Scruggs when he was in his 80's, and he was still as great as he ever was.  He lived up to his legend, and then some.

plus, they're famous celebrity boobs

I said I said Brandy you're a fine girl….what a goooood wife you would be….

it gets a lifetime pass because of the weird Celtic yodeling at the end….not enough of that in today's music

I always thought their first hit "Dreams" was their most famous song. Everything after that was kind of pale in comparison.

My parents had Bringing it All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited, Blonde on Blonde, and John Wesley Harding…all of which I grew up listening to. That's a tough 4 album run to beat. Hard to pick a favorite.

"fuck any coward who defends their pathetic decision. Now, get over it." You're a pathetic troll who doesn't even know he's a pathetic troll

@Bvmc…try getting out of your mom's basement every once in a while. There is a whole world out there with things to do instead of trying to upset people on the internet. You might as well admit that you didn't even know that Don Cornelius had brain damage, and that you were speaking from a position of ignorance.

I'll say it again, Don Cornelius had brain surgery years ago, and was never the same afterwards. Go ahead and make your judgement against a guy who had legitimate brain damage. He did more in his lifetime than you ever will, and deserves respect. Your position on Cornelius is not too different than making fun of the
