With satellite radio and internet radio and such, 80's hair bands get much better exposure now then they did 10 years ago too. I know I flip to my channel 23 on Sirrius in Canada and they have Poison on a lot.

That's hilarious Ack Ack. I still have my old VHS tape of that Steel Wheels TV special (taped from Much Music) with 3 songs in 3-D and my old pair of Steel Wheels 3-D glasses. I seem to recall the only '3-D' was just a bunch of smoke and stupid camera effects during 2000 light years from home. But it was still a

2 years too late
I wonder if anybody is still reading these? I've been finally watching True Blood while the 1st season is airing on Space in Canada so it's been fun the next day reading the episode summary and the commentary from 2008 but knowing that the show ends up as a big hit and the 3rd season is being hyped

At least with books they are adapting something original in one medium into another medium. Better then the constant remakes of old tv shows and movies into newer movies (and then redoing them again into 3D which is now inevitable). Of course Nimh was already that Disney movie. I liked it except for the stupid crow.

In Pat's blog he says he's finished the 2nd book (or at least a final draft) and it is being reviewed by editors. It'll probably come out this year at least in time for christmas I would think? Can't wait!

forgiven! Of course, I asked the same thing and posted without reading your post, ironically right after you, so my apologies.

Game of Thrones trailer?
When I saw this news item with HBO and trailers I kind of had my hopes up they have released a Game of Thrones trailer. No such luck yet I guess. There is a production still out there on GRRM's website but that's about it. Can't wait! But these shows look cool too. We're gonna have to get

That's right! I love those roving "e"s!!! But for a my poor justification in bad spelling, I do use the word "storey" all the time as it's the british version (which I use here in Canada) for a story in a building (i.e. four storey hotel). I'm a city planner so I use the word "storey" in writing a lot more than

Read S.M. Stirling instead
So I actually just finished Ariel a few weeks back. Had no idea these books existed until John Scalzi (Old Man's War fame) had Boyett on his blog to discuss Elegy Beach. It sounded cool (unicorns notwithstanding - I can't think about unicorns without snickering over that Robot Chicken

Now that that annoying blind guy on American Idol covered Mandolin Rain, I don't think I can ever listen to that song again. Of course, I very rarely have the urge to listen to the song anyway so this is pretty inconsiquential.

my only memories of SC 2 were the blatant scenes filmed in the Eaton's Centre in Toronto. And even though I was probably 10 at the time, even I was pissed off at the American citizenship ceremony they filmed outside of the Ontario Legislature Building (or provincial court house?). I always thought that was a bit

Did he even wash his hands afterwards? I'm sure using these wipes doesn't eliminate that requirement.

The Tim Hortons thing seemed to me like desperate product placement what with Timmies expanding in the states (into NYC even I hear and onto military bases in the states too). Just thought is was a bit fake.

Does this meant that
Connan the Librarian is coming to a movie theatre near you too?

I don't know. Both of them sucked. I think 12 had more action then 13 so for me that made it slightly less of a waste of time. We couldn't really get through 13. Sooooo long and boring.

Yeah, my home town of Hamilton Ontario are all over themselves mourning Al Martino with our large Italian Canadian population. He was a ficture here in the dinner and a show circuit and played about 20 times at Carmen's here (last time in July 2008 or something). There is almost a full page, full colour obituary for

I agree Lazy that Red Storm wasn't really character driven and spent a lot of time describing the tactics and weaponry, which while I still think was pretty cool can get boring. Can't remember character names, but the Iceland side story was good though and differed from the other storey lines.

Red Storm Rising
This isn't a Jack Ryan book, but they should make Red Storm Rising into a movie. That book is just filled with shit getting blown up real good, interesting WWIII scenarios, evil Russians, tank battles, and other good stuff. The Jack Ryan books got pretty tiresome toward the end (not to mention

Araxi
What with the Olympics just a few months away, I wonder if any network television (CTV in Canada, not sure who in the states) that is covering the Olympics (or a newspaper for that matter) and needs to fill a billion hours of stupid human interest stories will drop in on the Araxi and do some investigative

I hate going to the theater when drunk. Too many bathroom breaks. Of course, those 2 litre sodas they sell for like six bucks don't help either.
