Yeah, an episode or two ago I realised I was really enjoying it because we'd never seen these plotlines play out before on the show. Which shouldn't be that much of a revelation, but it's been so repetitive, it's really fun to see new stuff happening at last.

I agree with this: the formula is not only part of the comedy, but part of the horror too. I mean, these kids are being pursued by a murderous abuser (it's pretty clear that he wants Violet for more than her fortune) and they try to warn the adults in charge and nobody will listen to them.
