Vampire Slayer is a pretty solid stout. It's not anything mind-blowing, but it's certainly not terrible. I think my favorites from them are Eagle Fist Imperial Amber Ale and Chocolate Sombrero, which has a nice chili pepper spice to it.

If you're looking for something sort of short, cute, but kind of hits the point, there's a children's book called I Like You Sandol Stoddard Warburg that succinctly sums up a relationship in a way that only a children's book can. You could probably do the whole book as a reading without having to worry about editing…
Here's a question for guys with short hair: how often do you go to get it cut? I'm toying with the idea of going short for the summer, but my hair is light and tends to fro-out in a week or so. Do you gents with short hair go every two or three weeks?
I pay $30 + tip. I did the barber thing, but because I only get my hair cut every 2 months or so, I found that I value the initial cut plus the craft of cutting so that it grows out nicely until the whim of wanting a cut again takes hold. I personally never got that second part with any of the barbers I visited. I…
I've found myself in full-on hop mode for the past year or so. Slight detours to stouts during the winter and such, but for the most part, it's me and hops down by the school yard. I'll have to give the Uinta Dubhe a go.
I like beers like that. They sort of force the throttle on your drinking to slow sips.
Awesome! Home brewing is really, really fun.
Yes and yes! And while I've been on enough brewery tours and brewed enough beer at home to say that I've got my head pretty well wrapped around how to make beer, that place is like Wonka's factory and I ate that tour up.
Well, I did not make it out to see the cool hotels or any of the recommended breakfast places on my trip to San Diego last weekend, but I did get to visit Ballast Point Brewery and Stone (bachelor party priorities, right?).
I finally, finally picked up a bottle of Bulleit Bourbon and had a pull from it last Thursday. So, so good. Apparently my father-in-law agreed because I told him to feel free to have some over the weekend (he was in town to help paint our house while I was away) and when I returned I found that the bottle had been…
Food processor all the way. A blender (or at least mine) doesn't cut the seeds up enough.
Agreed on the alcohol addition. I've favored bocks when I make mustard. And fortunately, it's maibock season now, which I think works even better than a standard bock.
Yep, this is my ghost. Tell my family I was trying to figure out my tie size with a belt.
Keep 'em coming, @avclub-a452630477eb936fd36fc9a9542d4598:disqus While I'm not sure I can convince the entire bachelor party to check out the place, maybe we married gents can splinter off for a drink or two.
Excellent. Given that you're on the east coast, you get started on your bachelor party 3 hours ahead of me, so you can tell me from the future if the party is a bust.
Brockton Villa. Got it. I do love me a good breakfast spot.
Is Stone close to La Jolla?! I'd consider ditching the bachelor party to stay at Stone all day.
I'm flying out to La Jolla/San Diego for a bachelor party this weekend. There are 7 of us going so we've rented a house that could quite literally be the only thing we need to do all weekend. It's got a pool, a grill, and a gorgeous view. I think we're heading out on a few brewery tours and taking an upright paddle…
