Keith Phipps on She's All that:

Insiiiiiide you …

The New York Times called Redford "The Sun-Dried Kid", which I thought was a little mean.

Arnold used drugs to become world-famous, then gives speeches decrying them. This stupid country.

I don't get this joke but I am assuming it's funny.

Kind of pandering to your demographic here, AV Club.

I've been reading Theodore Dreiser. He's best known for writing An American Tragedy on which Woody Allen's Match Point was based. He also wrote Sister Carrie. But I am reading his trilogy based on the life of financier and turn-of-the-last-century Chicago railway magnate Charles Yerkes, including The Financier and T

I've read his jazz comics but even those were way too technical for me. I can follow the biographical stuff but when he starts talking about quarter notes and registers I am way out of my depth. He really did get me into Zorn, though. Took my wife a few weeks ago to see him play with Fred Frith. My wife thought it

A few years before this came out I was interning in Cleveland and looked up Harvey Pekar, who was a local celebrity at best at the time. I was 20 and he was flattered by the attention but disappointed I wasn't well-read and was more interested in comics than novels. Now, almost 15 years later, I wish he was still

>>> And yet, he did admit that there had been “discussions” about taking
over the role, which is really all those “rumors” were about in the
first place—“rumors” you are now hearing from Gordon-Levitt himself, in a
mind-bending logic loop.

You haters can make fun of Polanski all you want but he's living his life: making critically lauded movies, raping kids and enjoying the finest cuisine Europe has to offer.

I wonder what fucking shangrila you live in where you read an AV Club thread and you think this is somehow less progressive than anywhere else in the country/world?

I think I heard a black woman on one of the podcasts once … a long time ago … they said she was a proofreader or something (no joke) …

If it isn't my old nemesis Pete Best.

It's cool that this is public. Maybe he can parlay it into just the kind of credibility an ambitious young actor will find most profitable.

Ah, I still remember the epic McFarlane-David debates of the early 90s. No one who read those transcripts would ever take McFarlane seriously again.

I love Pope's artwork and I love how sophisticated and disparate his influences are. But the stories are usually not very engaging and kind of shallow.

I thought that was supposed to be Australian.

I didn't realize he had taken his wife's maiden name.  Probably because I hate Skyler so much.

What does that mean?
