The Look of Silence
The Look of Silence
The Look of Silence
The Look of Silence
It feels kinda weird to give this as a "best scene," but the part in The Look of Silence where Adi talks to his uncle was maybe the most brutal thing I've ever watched in a movie.
Beach House - Levitation
I just read your list, in some Gucci flip flops
I love Alex G and am kicking myself for not listening to Beach Music yet, gonna do that very soon. But Kicker is unsurprisingly a really beautiful song. You're not alone :)
Oh it's definitely close. 2010 is up there too, but that's the obvious reference point
Heems!! That album is great, so many powerful moments
Hey I like this list and I wish it had more entries (and more Beach House, but I digress). This was the best year for music since 2007. What a time to be alive
man I like doing these too much, here's mine:
They did it again
I can't think of any other "action" movie that has its heroes use so little violence; one of the many things that amazes me about this movie is that it's extremely thrilling and action-packed without glorifying or provoking a visceral enjoyment of violence (at least, not most of the time).
I watched some of his reviews but I was ultimately put off when I saw his review of the new Titus Andronicus album. https://www.youtube.com/wat…
These are all really tiny things, but he makes a big deal out of not knowing how to pronounce the name "Siobhan" in the song "Come on Siobhan" when that name is very…
Also this review is great and I agree with it, but I think one thing that doesn't get emphasized enough w/r/t Beach House is that they're some of the best melodic songwriters around, and this album is just full of songs that worm their way into your head and stay there for good.
I'm just here to say that this album is wonderful and that Levitation is the most beautiful song ever written, everyone please listen
Ayyyyy same here. We made it!
Dang, this book sounds awesome, and it's recommended by the head writer of The Onion? Reading it ASAP.
Out of curiosity, what are the main problems with 1491? I recently read it for a class, and I'd be interested to know.
I don't know if you'd consider it an accurate representation of your state, but The Strokes' "Hawaii" is really great.
Although if the criticism is directed toward Tyler's continued use of the word "fag," then I totally understand - if that's the case, I just wish the article had actually said that rather than make it seem like the AV Club was just shitting on Odd Future out of the blue.
