It could be 3 or 4 things. But the more things a game tries to be, the worse it usually is.
So far I've been avoiding the story missions and playing it as a survivalist-sandbox game. I did the first Golden Path mission where you choose a side, and I chose to help Sabal defend a village from attacking thugs. I didn't really have any moral qualms about helping with that task.
Maybe I'm a shallow person, but all that matters to me is that the GAME is fun to play. If this kind of critique is the result of video games being viewed as art, then I'd rather see games relegated back to the world of toys.
