I agree wholeheartedly.  Barely got through it the first time, then just watched it last week, and couldn't finish it.  I don't think I like Linklater movies, but so much of it was just meh. Like a better shot Wet Hot American Summer with less fridge-humping (slightly less.)
Also, don't undertstand the Out of Sight

Yeah, but it's not funny after a while, it is just nihilistically depressing.
To me it's a response to Oliver Stone's Wall Street where Gordon Gecko wins and will continue to win.  There is no FBI investigation, and if there was he'd get out of it.
And he'd look damn fine doing it, too.  I mean, look at that hair and

With you on that PaNoire - that scene with the kids was too much - I thought it was at the dry cleaners, but so, so disturbing that I thought "I can't finish this."
I really wanted him to get his comeuppance, but knew that wasn't going to happen (kinda like Wall St. in real life.) *sigh*

I thought of Willem in 'To Live and Die in LA' when this came up.  Great piece of filmmaking by Friedkin and a great sex/violent mash-up of a character.

Oh yah - Coraline - my 5th grader still won't watch it because we traumatised her with it when she was in 2nd grade.
Then there's Nightmare Before Christmas, which had one of my children yelling "I can't believe you let me watch that!!!"
Neither one could get through Monster House…

Suedehead, no doubt is on there.  And even Girlfriend in a Coma is a pop song, but as JH points out, it's a happy song about awful stuff.

I thought the insurance line was just a joke.  Gilliam sending us out on a laugh line.  It's funny b/c they won't *need* insurance soon.
The fact that she is in the future to me is not part of the conspiracy, but maybe I'm not choosing it to be.
She survived, but so did Willis and at least thousands of others.

Burger Meister Meister Burger, of course.

And when, in history, a truly megalomaniac/power-hungry psychopath(s) realize they can whip these 30%'ers into enough of a fearful frenzy, the ruling cabal can pretty much do as they please.
It's the model depicted in 1984.  It's very much always beneath any society, and can always rear it's ugly head.

I am surprised by the lack of
NBC COVERAGES SUCKS ASS!!!!
posts here.
Last night was truly dismal.  We get countless minutes of platform diving qualifying where the US divers sucked, instead of a full 20-30 minutes recap of the soccer match.
I also had to wait until I got on the internet to find out the women's water

I had to rewind the DVR a few times, because there is this blonde-haired judge who is agog at the end of that vault.  I mean her mouth is just open in wonder at what she just saw.
How often do you get to see a judge in awe at an elite competition.
I highly recommend checking it out.
