I had to rewind the DVR a few times, because there is this blonde-haired judge who is agog at the end of that vault.  I mean her mouth is just open in wonder at what she just saw.
How often do you get to see a judge in awe at an elite competition.
I highly recommend checking it out.

I spent an Olympics in Australia pre-satellite, pre-DVR era trying to watch the Atlanta games.  That was the most frustrating two-weeks of my life.  The sports they chose to show sucked, the commericals were endless and the mindless commentators going on about how great Austrailia was compared to the Seppos just about

IF you have it recorded still, check out Costas' comments about Luxembourg - who walked with the L's but really could've walked "in the G-spot."
Classic!

New Order is the top of my list for "Worst.Show.Ever"
Saw them in '89 and Bernard couldn't remember the words, stumbled a lot, and they left after about 50 minutes.
Can't even say the opening band salvaged the night, since I wasn't into 'Throwing Muses'.

Tell me you didn't pick up Kavalier and Klay and thought that was ice cream…
I hated that book, and did finish, but just barely.

Forrest (Fuckin') Gump
I cannot understand how anyone can sit through that piece of crap.  IT made me so angry.  IT even was the last straw in my decision to break up with a long-time girlfriend.  Anyone who liked that movie, I could obviously not continue seeing.

Agree - never finished that one, and can't read McSweeney's anymore as a result.

Thank you for the reminder - god, I hated RENT and I saw it on Broadway.  It was the first musical I saw in New York as a concession to my wife - paid good money too.  But at intermission I begged her to leave with me.  She refused and I made it through, but seething the whole damn time.  Awful, dreadful, terrible!

When my kids saw that, they hit pause and said - dumfounded - "did that knight just hit him on the head with a rubber chicken??"

Qu - that's right, although on the video we watched it was just the BBC spinning world logo for a minute.

I've been showing my kids some (carefully selected) sketches lately, and have really noticed the "transition problem" they have.

In the episode I watch last night with the "Arguement" sketch, Eric Idle even comes out and says "well, it's not always easy to get to the next sketch, and we got 25 minutes to fill."
