Love the fan theory that "James Bond" is actually a code name, and everytime a "James Bond" dies (or less likely, retires), a new guy is given the name. Skyfall kinda put a wrench in that, but it makes a lot of sense otherwise.

The Coda works fine for me - it's like the author coming on stage to take a bow, and all things considered, it's mostly deserved. But it's somewhat undercut by the fact that the author already spent too much time on the stage in previous acts.
