Counterpoint - "schmaltzy" stuff like Celine Dion is less therapeutic, and more akin to having salt poured on a wound.

No one tell Rollo about what the drummer does with tampons, k?

This was done long before:

Yup. Avenged Sevenfold is calling their lawyers right now. So are Johnathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, and the Taco Bell Bell.

A.A. Dowd didn't like this movie? In fact, he REALLY hated it?

The first time I heard Evanescence, I immediately thought of a bunch of corporate guys sitting in a boardroom saying, "You know what would help Linkin Park shift more units? If they had a chick singer."

I don't think a lot of story writers like to "spell out" the moral or theme to their readers. I generally prefer it when the story doesn't say "HEY THIS IS THE POINT I AM MAKING RIGHT HERE!"

I'm pretty convinced that if this was Season 1, and the Harrelson/McConaghy story had been season two, we'd still get the "Season one was brilliant, Season two is bad" articles over and over.

It's not just music - they're doing it with True Detective over in the TV reviews.

I don't know what show the AvClub is watching. This show is amazing.

Slipknot really is "the thinking man's Insane Clown Posse".

"Who could possibly give a shit about any of this?"

You know nothing, John Linnell.

What, I can't hate a talentless hack just because I'm white? You racist.

"What has Corey Taylor done besides influence a bunch of teenagers to dress like a bunch of edgy weirdos?""

So, I never watched Season 1. Season 2 is really great. I love it - and all of the things everyone is whining about are pluses to me. I hate everything Vince Vaughn has ever done, but he's great in this. He sells the "mobster who isn't as tough as he used to be, but is ready to overcompensate" thing perfectly.

Wait, the outrage has spilled onto multiple threads? I had no idea!

Bisley did the covers for Morrison's run on Doom Patrol, and scattered other things. Not a full-on collab, but the covers are definitely amazing.
